The Zabimaru is a melee style zanpakuto. In its shikai form it is made up of many extending parts. although the limit to attacking with it is three times before he has to rejoin the pieces. the spirit of the Zabimaru is a hybrid of a snake and a baboon. Rengi first acquires the bankai of the Zabimaru only a few hours before his fight with byakuya kuchiki.

His bankai is that the Zabimaru changes into a large segmented bamboo snake. each piece of the bankai is connected with his spirit power thus he can seperate and join the pieces together at will. his largest attack is a large blast of spirit power from the mouth of the snake. the only changes to his appeareance is that he aquires a fur mantle with a seemingly baboon skull on the shoulder.
